I did a little more testing and found out that just adding ?replytocom= is not actually enough to show everything. It will show more than before, but to see every comment you also have to put a number afterwards So it can look like ?replytocom=3 but can also have a longer number if you want. I reccomend against using 5, and eventually 6 digit numbers though, since it could lead to you accidentally replying to a comment instead of making your own comment. I don’t want to make this reply too long though, so I’ll add why and other stuff I found out in their own comment below.

You should actually add ?[keysmash], because what adding that does is bypass the cash, which doesn’t work if it’s been recently typed in before.
Erin reacheshis arms towards each other, the six elemental runes lighting up. He wrenches his arms apart, strain visible on his face as he invokes all the elements at once.
The waves and clouds blast away, leaving a circle of perfect calm around the ship. A beam of light shoots up from the ship, gleaming in the gap of the storm.
OKAY. OH MY GOODNESS. ERIN.
These two paragraphs are SO UNCLIMACTIC of WHAT JUST HAPPENED. AAAHHHHHHHH.
Alright. One, I’m just imagining Erin having to slowly pull his arms apart from the strain of using all six elements.
Two, consequences. I’m imagining next page, everything will sort of freeze as Erin sinks to his knees on the deck, arms still glowing. Everyone will stare at him, frozen in shock. Then Alinua/everyone will rush over to him. Eventually, Erin will go unconscious, either right after he releases the powers or before, if he has to hold it long enough.
Also, someone will DEFINITELY find them. Either the Paladin’s Champion or one of the nearby gods. Or I guess one of the merpeople. I’m thinking the Collector will only find them after they reach Helm, and then they’ll probably have to flee for their(or Kendal’s) lives because she’s just so powerful. A Collector-Alinua chat would be interesting, though. I’m not sure if VD will wake up or not. I don’t think so
My comment isn’t showing up and it’s been a day so I’m reposting
Erin reaches his arms towards each other, the six elemental runes lighting up. He wrenches his arms apart, strain visible on his face as he invokes all the elements at once.

………um. Erin. Don’t hurt yourself. …please.
Also, these two paragraphs are SO UNCLIMACTIC of how the page actually looks/is. AHHH.
Alright. One, I’m thinking eventually Erin will go unconcious from the strain, either when he releases the elements or sooner, if he has to hold them long enough.
Two, something is definitely going to find them. I’m betting on one of the nearby gods or the Paladins’ Champion. There’s always the threat of a big weird sea-monster type thing, and the Collector, but I think they’ll only meet the Collector when they reach Helm. Oceans don’t really seem like her thing, being the touched-by-Life person she is. And then when the Collector DOES find them, they’ll all have to run for their(or Kendal’s) lives. Although Voidy could probably hold her off for a while. And a Collector-Alinua chat would be nice.
I did have this prediction for next page, but since the next page is here and it didn’t happen, I’m not going to include it here.
It’s also been 5 pages since Erin used a magic circle to cast. I’m not sure if effects elemental corruption, but from what he’s said before it is more unpredictable.
I sincerely doubt it’s corruption, unless I misunderstood how that works. From what I understand, corruption happens because an element gets IN the body but then can’t be expelled back OUT without help/medical treatment, and the excess build up causes the corruption symptoms.
This is why no one else could get through that storm except for Erin, because every other mage that tried was vulnerable to at least one or more types of elemental corruption. Erin was the only one who could purge himself of the buildup and thus, corruption, of all 6 known elements.
My money is on pure strain. Think about it like this: Batman is strong and fit, but if something is heavy enough, even he’s going to struggle to lift it. (Ignore the fact that he probably has a gadget to lift said heavy object. Superman is too strong for this analogy 😛 )
Oooh, I really like this couplet. Also: yes, agreed, this page is EPIC 😀 But also, yes, I am concerned about Erin too. He seems to be visibly grimacing or at least gritting his teeth in the second panel, which suggests he’s feeling a lot of strain immediately.
In the reply field there’s a link next to *EMAIL that says “Get a Gravatar”. You essentially set up an acount on Gravatar which attaches an image to your email. So this is my profile pic on a bunch of other sites too.
Maybe for the wood of the boat? Or just panic. It’s between Water and Stone, and he needs those for the flaming Rocks and the…. water.
If it’s just directionless Life magic though, that might be a problem.
Why do I feel like if whatever they’ve been doing before now hasn’t attracted their next boss then the gap in the clouds with the “Bweem” is totally going to bring it to them?
Or maybe the god throwing rocks at them will come down for tea and a friendly chat 😀
wow what a cool and conspicuous sky beam! good thing nobody is actively hunting down our heroes as we speak! sorry what was that you were saying about paladins
I mean they know that VD is connected to the elemental magus, so if they have a way of figuring out that all 6 elements were used here, then it’s a bit of a giveaway
Both groups are looking for the Elemental Magus, and that’s an extremely powerful burst of multi-elemental energy. Its not definitive but it WOULD warrant investigating.
The Champion is crossing the ocean to intercept Erin, so he’s probably going OVER the storm. If he happens to see an Elemental Magus blowing a massive hole in it, he’ll get suspicious.
I think the immediate problem is Rahkn finding them. After all, the gods all seem to beam in on Kendal. Add this and we’ve got a curious, dangerous, and capricious fire god.
Even if this solves all of the immediate problems, which it’s not guaranteed that it will, giant light beams in the sky visible for miles might make it a good deal easier for certain malevolent entities to find them.
Again, Erin’s boundless arrogance continues to cause problems.
I wouldn’t call this arrogance so much as desperation, Erin clearly does not like doing this (I may be wrong in a few panels but it does not look like he enjoys this).
Okay, let’s cool it on the “boundless arrogance” talk already. Erin is allowed other emotions too.
I mean sure, he IS arrogant, and his plan WAS terrible, but at this point he’s not thinking “I’m going to BWEEM a hole in the storm because I’m the Elemental Magus and I CAN”. He’s thinking “We’re all going to die if I don’t DO something.”
I mean, relying solely on yourself is a form of arrogance…but that’s not Erin’s driving force here. In most cases, he’s probably the most powerful and versatile in the room, so it comes down to him. But this was his idea, and he promised (again) that he could keep them safe. And Alinua was right, if not for the right reasons: he doesn’t want to fail again, so I’m not surprised he’s willing to pull out every stop to keep that promise.
This is definitely going to be very bad for Erin’s health, or at least put him out of commission. It is, however, very nice of him to make a sky beam so it’s easier for the various villains to find them, so considerate!
Erin: Reality *bends* to my will!
Kendal: I really think you’re going to regret doing a Symmetra impression rather than relying on the power of friendship, buddy
Erin fans are EATING today, he finally gets to show off the full scope of his coolness.
Plus, when the strain of this comes back to bite him, we’ll get so much theory fodder >:)
OH MY GOD OMHMYGOD OHMYGOD IVE BEEN WONDERING WHAT HAPPENS IF HE USES ALL 6 AT THE SAME TIME– this. is. even more epic than i anticipated. Red, you’ve outdone yourself. Erin, uh, I dunno what the consequence of this is gonna be but you should probably sit down for it. AAAA I love this page so much!! It’s so beautiful!!
What problems do you think? There will probably be “Erin is not able to do things right now” which would mean less recharge for the lacrimas thus a finite range for the ship (more finite at least), no rain/storm shield, and less ease for things like fixing the ship (which I suspect is about to be needed). I also suspect that all six auras being called to the same place at once inside their domain would get the attention of a god -however that is a lot of escalation from “it is raining a bit.”
I mean, let’s see…
Water and air to calm the waves and push away the clouds
Fire and stone to stop the literal flaming meteors
Lightning I can get, they are in a storm
But yes, what about life? Why would he use that?
Heal his friends and himself from being knocked around, grow a patch over the holes in the sale, manipulate the wood on the deck to catch Tess as she falls (not that she needs it) or the others before they roll overboard?
So if Erin just broke (undid? Erased?) his tattoos (bindings) then they might have a massive timelimit on reaching the soulshaper monks, depending on the exact consequences of this
I don’t think he broke the seals, more that he touches them to cast everything all at once. It’s probably gonna take a lot out of him so it is likely he’ll be out of commission for a bit
Can we collectively stop dragging Erin for just one day?
I see so many comments already saying: “Here we go again, Mr. Hubris showing off how omnipotent he is; what an arrogant fool.”
But… What is he supposed to do? Humbly let everyone die? Gently go into that good night?
I’m not denying that Erin is an arrogant fool. But some days, he gets to be a desperate fool instead. And somedays, like today, he gets to do something truly awesome to back up all the pride and arrogance that got him in this situation.
In other words, Erin WON today. And we should respect that. He said he’d protect everyone, and no-one believed him, but he might just be about to prove them all wrong. Or maybe he goes overboard on Wednesday. Who knows?
Don’t worry, we all are at heart! But also- I have a sneaking suspicion that the next wide shot we’re going to get will be of every god around waking up and coming for a look (and maybe also dragons and sea folk) so let’s just hope their next audience doesn’t like throwing tomatoes at the stage 🙂
I’m with you. Like everyone’s talking about Erin’s arrogance, but Tess was on his side too, and I kind of trust she’d knock him down a peg if he was being too arrogant. But the whole plan to cross the ocean was fast, and their alternatives involved incredible delays. Tess was on board with the plan for a reason. As long as she’s around and not calling him out, I can’t help but feel the plan has realism to it and isn’t just Erin being prideful.
But the group does need a leader to call the shots once things start going wrong, and it probably can’t be Erin since he’s too often busy working on the variety of problems he can solve.
Agreed. Like, if Erin was the designated leader and had forced his people into following this plan, yeah he’d be all to blame. But if everyone is the leader, then everyone shares equal responsibility for the situation. No one else had a better idea, and if they had stayed, the storms and icebergs would have gotten worse, not to mention how all their enemies would have tracked them down if they had delayed the trip and stayed put.
Plus, there is a valid reason for why Erin is acting as the leader. He is leading everyone to the Monks, he was the one people were deferring to for strategies when fighting Tynan. He was who lead them to the ruins to rest after the fight. He found the ship. There is a reason why Dainix thought he was the leader, and that’s because no one else is acting like one!
I am not trying to play down the contributions of everyone else, and obviously not all of Erin’s plans work out. But I think it is unfair to not bring anything to the table plan-wise and then do nothing but second guess and undermine those who did come up with something.
Plus, what Kendal, Alinua and especially Falst have been doing has really been rubbing me the wrong way. “It’s hard to explain stuff so I just let him think he’s in charge then do my own thing and let him figure it out” That is the opposite of clear communication Kendal! “I don’t trust you, but I trust you’ll do anything to prove you’re right” If you don’t like his plan you don’t need to attack the guy personally, just talk through it and come up with a plan together! And Falst not consulting anyone and just making a group decision while directly targeting Erin. That is just so not okay.
Sorry for the rant, but this is bring up a lot of group project trauma. No one has a plan so they force you to come up with one. They agree to follow it, and then they don’t do the plan and blame you for everything that goes wrong.
No one who’s read my gushing over Erin would be surprised that I fully agree.
But here his motives aren’t hubris. Yes, hubris may have been part of the cause (and part is Falst making a sudden move, and the fact that crossing in this season is dangerous, no bones about it), but now? He’s going all-out to save the situation despite feeling hurt and put-upon. This is desperation.
And the real leader of the group will be the one who can put a stop to the finger-pointing and blame coming soon.
Yeah, I feel there is a difference between a peace keeper and a leader. There can definitely be overlap, but Kendal has a habit of going solo (tracking down Falst, getting taken to prison, fighting Tynan). He cares about other’s safety, and hopefully now his, but he is very reactionary and isn’t one for making plans or trying to coordinate the group.
I think the person who’s personality is best suited to being the leader would be Alinua, because she is willing to take charge and make practical decisions, while taking care of others and not being overly suicidal about it. The thing that prevents that though is she defers to Kendal for all major decisions and doesn’t have the more worldly knowledge to navigate the world and make long term plans. She also doesn’t seem as personally motivated as the others. I mean, if Kendal decided to leave the mission for whatever reason, I have no doubt Alinua would chose to follow him.
It is nice to see Erin doing his version of the Avatar State, but it does make me wonder what the price of this is. I’m not dragging on him, mind you. Presumably whatever he just did will save them from the immediate danger…but there’s also presumably a reason he didn’t pull this out in any of the previous fights or other on screen dangerous situations.
And I’m hoping he didn’t just pull a heroic sacrifice for five minutes of safety or something. One assumes he’s too smart to buy a temporary reprieve that’s just going to end with them in danger again, but he didn’t have a lot of time to think here.
I’m also wondering if he somehow teleported the ship and everyone, because that kinda *looks* like a transporter effect in the final panel.
Anyone else notice that the rocks are all not only still heading towards them but also EXCLUSIVELY heading towards them? No doubt now that that god behind the rocks and storm is actively trying to kill them and not just coincidentally erupting as part of their normal routine.
Water – the ocean
Air – the wind
Lightning – the uh, lightning
Stone – the flaming rocks
Fire – the flame on those flaming rocks
Life – His, friends? Healing Kendal’s injuries? . . . attack whale chimeras?
…is that the same blue as the paladin magic? I know we’ve got a lot of magic blue going on in this comic but I think summoning all six elements gives us a “with all your powers combined, I am CAPTAIN PLANET” moment that BIRTHS the source of the light dragon’s power. Narratively it would also make sense if it summoned the quirky miniboss squad and a fothermucking DRAGON to come kill them in the ocean plus the other god stuff. It would do well as an expositional beat that we all look at later and go “The light was so bright I forgot to look at the foreshadowing!” but also means that we have a diegetic reason that it’s even slightly possible for anyone in the world to know where they are at the speed they’ve been traveling over open water.

Come life and stone, end this storm so dire
Also: This is EPIC. But probably very bad for Erin.

Unrelated question, how do you get a pfp on this?
In the reply field there’s a link next to *EMAIL that says “Get a Gravatar”. You essentially set up an acount on Gravatar which attaches an image to your email. So this is my profile pic on a bunch of other sites too.
Thanks!
Lowkey, new favourite Couplet. Great work!
Thanks!
Damn that’s a lot of magic. I wonder what he’s using the life magic for? I hope he doesn’t pass out fron the effort before they get out of storm.
Maybe for the wood of the boat? Or just panic. It’s between Water and Stone, and he needs those for the flaming Rocks and the…. water.
If it’s just directionless Life magic though, that might be a problem.
Vines to catch everyone?
Erin unlocks all six bindings,
He drives back the waves and pierces
The clouds with a beam of ship-wide light,
A pillar of elemental forces.
Time to go all out
Using every element
To blast through the clouds
Bweem bweem bweem bweem bweem
Bweem bweem bweem bweem bweem bweem bweem
Bweem bweem bweem bweem BWEEM
Some of your finest work 😉
It took so much time
To come up with that haiku
Truly, my best one 😉
I’m gonna pretend that there’s no possibility of him hurting himself by using all elements at once. Nope, he’ll totally be fine
Why are you talking like that?
Like what?
“How many elements can Erin control at once?”
“Yes”
seven including void.
Not yet, he can’t. Now keep an eye on this Chekov’s Gun for me, will you?
Don’t worry @veggiesnake, I’ll lock it up in my SUPER secure vault— wait. Where did it go? Oh no. WHERE DID IT GO—
Also who else despises autocorrect? Yes it can be helpful but half the time I end up having to rewrite the ACat in my username 😭
Erin used Control Weather! It’s super effective (for the moment)!
Oh, so he can do that. I’m guessing it just takes a lot of focus to be able to use more than 2 elements at a time or something.
…Holy shit. Holy SHIT.
Erin…what the fuck did you just *do*?
(Also, ‘Bweem’ is a great sound effect, 10/10).
‘Bweem’ is an awesome sound effect!
Also – Erin! omg … OMG!!
My reaction exactly. he broke the clouds, and the ocean?
Tarren’s going to be pissed if Erin somehow launched the ship into the stratosphere and didn’t invite them.
Why do I feel like if whatever they’ve been doing before now hasn’t attracted their next boss then the gap in the clouds with the “Bweem” is totally going to bring it to them?
Or maybe the god throwing rocks at them will come down for tea and a friendly chat 😀

There is only one caster that can make a *bweeming* sky beam with all six elements, and they know who it is.
I think the immediate problem is Rahkn finding them. After all, the gods all seem to beam in on Kendal. Add this and we’ve got a curious, dangerous, and capricious fire god.
My brain cheerfully supplied “Hehe, now they can beam in on Kendal and BWEEM in on Erin”, and I’ve decided to inflict it on everyone else as well.
Ha! Yes, that describes very well how the last god-fight went.
Now that I look at the description text again, there have been no spoken words on all of August
WOW
Even if this solves all of the immediate problems, which it’s not guaranteed that it will, giant light beams in the sky visible for miles might make it a good deal easier for certain malevolent entities to find them.

Can’t believe he just Thanos snapped the weather.
YES XD
There it is!
Now for him to collapse from overuse/exhaustion in 3, 2, …
Oh. So it was not void dragon time, it was limit break time.
Nice.
That means that things definitely won’t go bad now right?
There is still a chance for Voidy to come after if Erin passes out
Another comic panel that could be used as bedroom poster.
Also, I got inspired by this page and made this: https://youtu.be/1hYXVUd9DOM
Music was pure nostolgia, thanks for that.
This is definitely going to be very bad for Erin’s health, or at least put him out of commission. It is, however, very nice of him to make a sky beam so it’s easier for the various villains to find them, so considerate!
Erin: Reality *bends* to my will!
Kendal: I really think you’re going to regret doing a Symmetra impression rather than relying on the power of friendship, buddy
counterpoint: neurodivergent wizard (I know that Erin isn’t, but I mean just conceptually, imagine a neurodivergent wizard).
whaddya mean he isn’t
Impressive. Erin doesn’t disappoint. Makes me imagine what it was like before Erin had those tattoos to control his powers.
He mentioned that it was hard on his soul channels? I think we’re about to find out what that means….
Sooo Mr. SickTats McHubris, how’s your fifth try and flying closer to the sun going?
Erin fans are EATING today, he finally gets to show off the full scope of his coolness.

TL;DR: Giant magic laser GO!
HAAAHUGHYAHHHH ERIN!!
Also red this page is SO GORGEOUS
So…Anyone else feeling like this falls under “Dangerous Forbidden Technique”?
Every god within the vicinity: “What the me-damn was that”
XD
Two full pages without anyone or anything shouting at the Elemental Magus… 🙁
those are some sick tats mr mchubris
Um, what just happened? Erin.. are you ok? Like, there is no way you had to use all six elements there. Not all at once. So, what’s going on?

Clearly, everything will be fine now!
Kudos to Veggiesnake for correctly realizing Erin had not, in fact, gone overboard last time
Thanks!

Yeah, I’m really hopeful we see The Lady’s Champion again soon. This seems like as good a time as any.
he can have a little extreme hubris. as a treat
But the group does need a leader to call the shots once things start going wrong, and it probably can’t be Erin since he’s too often busy working on the variety of problems he can solve.
yeah its sounding less and less sarcastic with each page :/
THIS
Oh my god, it’s the Group Project Trauma…
Yeah. . . I might need to find a support group. I still get nightmares about it some times.
I’ve always found how people talk about Erin at odds with the story.
Nah, the one who stops the accusing and blaming can also be the heart- so Kendal?

I wonder if this will break the tattoos as I sorta predicted last page.

New form of poetry just dropped??
Welcome to the Poem Group, friend! (Sorry if I’ve missed you on previous pages.)
Took me a couple of tries to find the right name. Happy to be a part of the club!
Hi, just your regularly scheduled reminder that I would pay TOP DOLLAR for this book in print <3
Print book is happening next year: https://comicaurora.tumblr.com/post/747922595678191616
Anyone else notice that the rocks are all not only still heading towards them but also EXCLUSIVELY heading towards them? No doubt now that that god behind the rocks and storm is actively trying to kill them and not just coincidentally erupting as part of their normal routine.
Water – the ocean
Air – the wind
Lightning – the uh, lightning
Stone – the flaming rocks
Fire – the flame on those flaming rocks
Life – His, friends? Healing Kendal’s injuries? . . . attack whale chimeras?
Huh, all the elements look like the Light Magic color
The pretty lighting effects <3 And Erin showing why there is at least a little, wee bit of reason behind his hubris.
Wait erin has to tuch the tattos right?
It’s paler than paladin blue
Ah yes. The avatar state.
XD
HAAAHUGHYAH ERIN!!
