erin is correct. book bags is impot=rtance of the highest orders
*importance
I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again: Book bags are SACRED TERRITORY.
Ooh, the shiny-glasses thing! And today, the Pompous Nitwit continues to be the Pompous Nitwit.
Oh, good, 2020 people noticed the eyeglasses thing. He tries to hide it very well, but we the Audience see EVERYTHING…
The Eyeglasses Shot
So, uh, fun fact: Last night I had a crazy dream where Erin may or may not have gotten beheaded… ?
I don’t remember all the circumstances but I think it was an “O I have been captured, please kill me” sort of situation. It was weird.
Why? Like I can’t imagine Erin dying!
I had a similar dream a couple days ago, but Erin was turned into a vampire by some weird purple haired girls. Oh, and then he was eaten by VD.
I blame undercooked yes slightly burnt hot dogs.
Fun times eh?
Umm… I think Erin might be an asshole.
Given that he’s the Elemental Magus and that seems to be serious mojo, the stuff in his stolen bag probably really is dangerous enough if misused to take top priority. You don’t want someone who may already be making chimerae on the side deciding to see what that can do with an archmage’s spellbook, or that copy of the Necronimicon he was keeping for bedtime reading, or whatever crazy ritual ingredients he might have in there. Just because he’s self-centered doesn’t necessarily mean he’s wrong.
I tend to assume that Erin is being both self-centered and right in any given situation.
Very true.
Dr. Jolon: *does the anime shiny glasses thing*
Me: “And suddenly, I trust him WAY less…”
Gasp!
He and Falst have the same eye colour! Is Falst a changer Ferin?
No, Falst is a hybrid ferin; he can’t shapeshift.
(r/woosh me all you want, but it’s the truth)
There’s a possibility that Dr. Jolon (a skilled life mage) could be the source of the chimeras, surreptitiously drumming up business for his clinic while feigning compassion and ignorance
Counterpoint, Falst is a talker. Red loves talker villains.
About 3 months later, I return to say that you were bang on.
The life mage is disturbingly reminding me of the one guy in Fullmetal Alchemist who makes a chimera out of his child and her dog. It has something to do with the glasses, I think, but my *point* is he could be the nicest man on the planet and I still won’t trust him.
EXACTLY! The glasses and that association are why Dr. Jolon is more suspicious to me now (that, and he’s asking to talk to the squad alone)
Could be the shiny anime glasses thing, could be the shape of the jaw. Could be that lion’s mane of hair and same eye color as Falst and shape shifting Ferin exist. He certainly wouldn’t be the first person providing MonsterProtectionRacket TM (tv tropes).
Same thing I told Theory Cat: Falst can’t shapeshift, he’s a hybrid ferin
Yes he can, he is just Clark Kenting! The glasses, the clothes, the forced clumsiness. It all makes sense!
I can’t tell if you’re joking or not, but in case you aren’t, I’ll attempt to explain this politely to you:
One individual cannot be more than one type of ferin, so a hybrid ferin can’t also be a shifter ferin. Hybrid ferin are incapable of shapeshifting. Falst is a hybrid ferin, as evidenced by the fact that his form stays stable (it doesn’t change based on his emotional state or by seemingly random circumstance, so he isn’t an unstable ferin) and he is possesses features of both a human and a lion.
Hybrid ferin can’t shapeshift, Falst is a hybrid ferin, ergo: Falst can’t shapeshift.
And even if that life lacrima he has *will* allow him to shapeshift (which, since it’s mutation via life magic, it most likely won’t, or at least not without devastating side effects, including but not limited to elemental corruption, madness, and possibly even death), he would be the exception, not the rule.
Every single page Dr. Jolon looks more like Dr. Van Helsing to me.
Though it’s been a while since I’ve seen Red’s Dracula video.
The travelers were found scratched, with their bookbag stolen *serious jolon face*
Almost like a extremely targeted animal attack *serious jolon face*
But can we just take a second to appreciate Jolon’s cheekbones? What’s a cutie like you doing in a small town like this? “Medicine” Oh, yeah.
Alright Erin, place the importance of getting your bag back above that of the town terrorised by chimeras. Glad Alinua’s raised eyebrow is calling him out. (Granted books like that in the hands of unscrupulous and/or unpracticed mages could be disastrous)
(reads comments) Great, now I’m starting to suspect him of being a villain. It’ll take more than the anime glasses thing to convince me fully however.
TL;DR: Nerd floof’s bag of holding > chimera problem, apparently. Additionally, in terms of good news, we have no good news.
I’ll just lure you back into my lair.
… For once, I shall believe that was implied without any evil intentions… but only this one. time.
Calling it here and now, the Doctor is responsible for what’s going on here.
Wait a minute, was Blue always writing these alt texts or was it this time only, or was Red talking about herself in third person?
It’s still Red doing everything. I assume that the alt text is an out-of-canon aside from Jolon since they are going to the clinic.
