I speak a little, but I think I need help understanding if I were to have a hope of helping correct.
The second part is basically perfect “[Subject] asked the Deus ex machina,” but “urbane” is either “city-dweller” specifically in the context of someone addressing them or calling them such in place of their name (vocative case, that is), or possibly the adverb “cityish” or “urbanely.” Sumendam is the *takes a breath* accusative singular feminine future passive participle *exhales* of “sumo” which has a bunch of meanings but usually means “take up [a task]”
So I guess the way I would try to translate this is: “The thing which will be undertaken asked the Deus ex machina urbanely.” But I don’t think that’s quite right either because, though I’m fuzzy on my participles, I think if that were the correct translation it should be sumenda, not sumendam.
In other words, I’d like to cheat. What does this say in Latin?
If you go back to the page where the Void Dragon was describing how it was imprisoned, the panel where it shows the dragon fighting against Stone (the Primordial whose body became the planet) you may see that Stone is carrying a sword and a shield that are the same colors as these moons.
I don’t know how this is going to go horribly awry, but I’m noticing that whenever Our Protagonists have a reasonable sounding plan everything goes to hecc pretty fast and I don’t see what would make this time any different.
To the hover text: I don’t think it is. A foreshadowed actor, actively engaged by the protagonist? Basically the opposite of a Deus Egg.
Especially since a Deus Ex Machina fixes everything and I have reasonable doubt about this fixing much…
Also, I think that red only would have mentioned smol gleicann if that has some kind of relevancy later, like maybe the forest was smaller, or something, and gods get bigger when their cities get bigger (I think (unless this was already pointed out in the lore, and I’m just stupid)).
Either that, or it’s just a red herring to make people want to see small Gleicann.
Gleicann got larger and more scary-looking because the mortals who lived in his forest started fearing the forest, thanks to all the chimera attacks. Gods in Aurora can change if their worship or domain changes; if Gleicann’s forest is restored to its peaceful state, Gleicann himself will return to his original form.
There was literally a minor goddess of a lake telling Kendal that other gods of the world would be willing to aid his quest. That’s not deus ex, that’s more along the lines of some kind of…checkholv’s gunman. Kinda.
Kendal maaaaay need to specify that the “chunk of raw, untempered life energy” is a lacrima crystal and not a person or else Glaicann may end up attacking Alinua. >.>
I see you’ve fallen victim to the weird comment process on this page. If you want to reply to show up as a reply it’s not a new comment make sure you’re on the individual comic page and not the main page of the comic 😉
G: Yes, I feel it. Purple, floofy, hates stew.
K: N-No, the other chunk of raw, untempered life energy.
Kendal left Erin and Alinua alone at night to talk to a god. I know they’re nowhere near the caves but I’m getting some uneasy deja vu here.
Lovely skyline there, no auroras tonight it seems but the stars and moons are amazing.
… There’s a point, with the storm gone does the world still have the auroras of magic? Those auroras were funnelled into it after all.
Ok, to answer the first question, (sorry I’m really late on this) what you said was : He asked politely to take two from the machine. I used Google translate, so I don’t know if that’s correct. Sorry, hope it helps tho
sumendam urbane rogavit Deum ex machina
(anyone who knows latin, please correct me there)

(By the way, http://archives.nd.edu/words.html and https://en.wiktionary.org/ are really good resources for figuring out all the forms of words.)
Honestly, I completely forgot what I was saying. I just looked up my google translate history, and it was probably god politely asked by machine.
Kendal: I’m about to execute what’s called a “pro gamer move”.
Look at our smart himbo! 😀
Still, I think it might not be that easy for Gleicann, in page 1.8.8 they clearly couldn’t see Alinua’s energy…
I’m so proud of Kendal! (Today voice-to-text thought his name was kindle ?)
Just sitting here admiring the close up shading on the sword hilt
-KINDLE- HAHAHAHAHAHA IM CHOKING
First Candle, now Kindle? Is your voice-to-text, perchance, determined to immolate him?
Well once upon a time it actually thought Kendal’s name was Kendall… OH. MY. GOODNESS. IT GOT HIS NAME RIGHT THIS TIME
OOH LAH LAH! Those moons are looking fancy tonight!
So those are Sword and Shield. Huh. They’re even the same colour as the Pokemon games.
If you go back to the page where the Void Dragon was describing how it was imprisoned, the panel where it shows the dragon fighting against Stone (the Primordial whose body became the planet) you may see that Stone is carrying a sword and a shield that are the same colors as these moons.
With Shield full and Sword almost full, it makes for quite a bright night
(Also I love the last panel, it’s SO PRETTY)
Smart move from our floofy paragon :3 Great!!!

Unrelated, but I love your name
Is our boy Kendal growing up? I think in the end he will prove to be the worthiest of all ;-; (but tears of joy)
Well he’s nine *and a half* days old now. With age comes wisdom. ^_^

Diabolos Ex Machina maybe?
More Gleicann!! Yeeeeeeeeeees!
I hope we get to see Gleicann’s smol original form someday…
I forsee a flashback with smol Gleicann.

I have a very bad feeling about this.
Is it deus ex machina?
Nope, because the machina was established, and the deus has already ex-ed.
There was literally a minor goddess of a lake telling Kendal that other gods of the world would be willing to aid his quest. That’s not deus ex, that’s more along the lines of some kind of…checkholv’s gunman. Kinda.
The MOOOOOOONS! What might they be capable of!?
Ahhhh it’s all so pretty
Kendal maaaaay need to specify that the “chunk of raw, untempered life energy” is a lacrima crystal and not a person or else Glaicann may end up attacking Alinua. >.>
<3 Thanks. Because of D&D i've been answering to Beartrap for more than a decade

TL;DR: Vashn’t goes to Plant Man and flexes his newly developed problem solving skills.
Kendal is growing braincells. Had this been Vash, I have the nagging feeling he would have gone straight to face-punching the problem. 😀
The hover text for this is by far my favorite
Alt text: is it still a deus ex machina if you knock on the machina and politely ask the deus to ex
Ah there’s the second moon
