A black/gold dragon with an all consuming substance that kinda looks like black fire? Possessing a very powerful magician that is considered the best on their world?
And here I thought that edgy OC I created 14 years ago couldn’t ever be used in a story!
Ah, I see it’s been a few of us who have come up with the idea of an ancient dragon with black fire capable of killing anything. On the one hand, it makes me relieved to know I’m not the one to be that edgy. On the other hand, mine hasn’t possessed anyone, so I feel left out.
Yes, you are The Dragon, we already knew that V.D. , and Erin is the Dark Avatar consequentially. Now can you put some new lore in your villain monolugue before unleashing your evil plan? Pretty please? Thanks. (even if it’s more like a conversation since the V.D. can read every thought of his avatar, that’s a looot more interesting)
Well, she made a “Blood for the Blood God” reference in one of her Aztec videos. You can even buy a sticker of it on their Redbubble shop.
Not sure if she’s a fan, but she definitely at least has an interest in 40k.
doesn’t this mean from the beginning of the story the Twins were coerced into creating an open elemental vessel for the Void Dragon or at least thats my theory
I made a comment on the last page of the prologue with my own theory. TLDR: probably coerced, but possibly working with as an interesting project. One that accidentally created consciousness (either people or gods).
As I understand it, all of the primordials and the dragon died in their fight, but their souls persisted. The prologue was probably the void dragon trying to gain a new vessel that could use all of the elements so that he could defeat the primordials with their own medicine, and I think he asked the twins (who are probably something like moon deities who govern the life on the world of Aurora) to make him one, assuming the planet was fairly new at this point. We’ve already got an idea of how rare an elemental magus is, so I figure VD asking for a new vessel was the opportunity for the twins to make the three elder races and finish off with the first elemental magus, before doing something that ridded his control over the races.
I’m interested to see, if Erin can make it back to Alinua and Kendal, how he will try to convince them that the Void Dragon is the identity of his spooky hitchhiker
Trust won’t be a problem, Alinua already knew a great danger was near thanks to the life primordial influence on her, and Kendal saw the damage it caused; the issue right now is that V.D. won’t probably leave Erin’s body so soon, looking at the various sketches we have (and I’m not complaining, it’s a very intriguing dynamic);
Finally, all the pieces are finally coming together, I’ve a feeling that by the end of this week we’ll finally know if the theories where true or not…
Knowing Kendal, he’ll try to sit down with some tea and talk it out before ultimately whooping it. Knowing Alinua, she would already have tried to tie it down.
Not his kin, the primordials. Or if they were all kin and the VD tried to wreck everything they made then that’s straight out of Greek mythology style family quarrels.
The Villian so confident that they can afford to be sociable and even pleasant to the heroes is one of my favorite hero-villain dynamics. It’s like, why be rude when you can be awesome instead. Love it
The consuming black tendrils of evil eldritch dragon’s aura, or the power great enough to destroy the vessels of the other elements being the seventh element is probably pretty high at this point.
Thank you so much for fulfilling my absolute favorite trope of “demon/spirit possessing someone having conversations with their host”. I live for that stuff
So Void Dragon is his proper name. Duly noted. And ignored as I brainstorm nicknames, how does Voidemort sound?
Excellent panels here, Erin covered in blackness, the head and neck of the dragon looming over in the final section, all great.
Nice conversation they’re having, I, like Razmerry, am a sucker for the possessor/inner voice conversation trope.
TL;DR: Narrator mcHubris and Void mcDark have a not-so-friendly conversation, at least partially to make fun of those of us who didn’t read the extra lore page.
Waiiiiiit, are we going to have some sort of “I know you’re in there somewhere” fight? Or a battle at the center of the mind? Man, knowing what tropes are and identifying them is way funnier than one might think
Based on the last panel, I’m suddenly not sure that the Void Dragon is actually a “dragon” in the sense the word is used in this world… it may be more of a convenient label than an accurate one.
Wait, that’s the… logo…
Also I love him, this is the best, it’s so terrifying, reminds me of something but I can’t… I’m sure I read a story wi5h something like this….
He’s making all sorts of new friends!
But… But.. you didn’t update the character page! it still says ??? instead of Void Dragon D:

for me it was teal fire
I can live with thee teal, I wish Carhartt made scrubs in teal though, their pants have loops for a belt, & they feel familiar & I like the brand/rep;
Luv
Ari
Every creation myth needs a Doom Prophecy, preferably in the form of something you can sacrifice goats to appease.
wait, do we have to stop calling him Walter?
As someone who is actually named Walter, this comment feels vaguely threatening to me
No he was the Dark Floof
This dragon seems like a very nice guy. Besides for all the murder and possessing. Those aren’t nice things to do.
Affably evil. The best kind of evil
Ah yes the 7th element… Purple stuff
Oh THAT’S why the dragon is in the main logo
Exalted’s Ebon Dragon vibes right here
Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking this.
Games Workshop will be serving you Trademark Infringement papers soon.

BTW Void Dragon -> V.D. -> VolDemort? (don’t kill me plz)
HOLY S***, name reveal AND a (very cool-looking) silhouette in the same page! I’m excited to see more of our main antagonist!
Void Dragon? Red never struck me as a wh40k fan, so it’s probably just a coincidence.
Well, she made a “Blood for the Blood God” reference in one of her Aztec videos. You can even buy a sticker of it on their Redbubble shop.
Not sure if she’s a fan, but she definitely at least has an interest in 40k.
Yeah, Red referenced her wh40k history in her Grimdark video. I think she played the Eldar.

Oh this is awesome! An insight into the enemy! Yet how will our heroes react?

I just realized how this sounds. I meant whooping it’s butt, like Vash.
They may know him as the Void Dragon but he will remain ‘Dark Floof’ in my heart
Please, Erin… At least ask why the void dragon is afraid of Alinua while you’re here.
Mae g’ovannen, I’m new here.
May the floof be with you.
Is it just me, or are a lot of villain reveals followed by ‘Please, no formalities’?
I haven’t seen any villains who said that; plus, here, with the “We’re already so close” line, it works so well
The Void Dragon who killed several of his kin?
So they’re on Mars?
Not his kin, the primordials. Or if they were all kin and the VD tried to wreck everything they made then that’s straight out of Greek mythology style family quarrels.
I sense some exposition coming
Exposition Alert! Exposition Alert!
Totally

This was supposed to be a reply to “he who craves” up top.
I was really hoping Void Dragon would be an affable villain, but guessing from him killing 6 gods, that seems unlikely
Thank you so much for fulfilling my absolute favorite trope of “demon/spirit possessing someone having conversations with their host”. I live for that stuff
“Uncreative, but acceptable.” I love it.
This page is my favorite so far!
Void dragon has an eerily similar resemblance and/or colour palette as the collector……coincidence i thiNK NOT—
Void is probably the seventh element, and the collector is a void mage.
So Void Dragon is his proper name. Duly noted. And ignored as I brainstorm nicknames, how does Voidemort sound?
Excellent panels here, Erin covered in blackness, the head and neck of the dragon looming over in the final section, all great.

Wait… Khyber??? Is that you?
TL;DR: Narrator mcHubris and Void mcDark have a not-so-friendly conversation, at least partially to make fun of those of us who didn’t read the extra lore page.
Oh this is Fire Emblem now. Funny
Waiiiiiit, are we going to have some sort of “I know you’re in there somewhere” fight? Or a battle at the center of the mind? Man, knowing what tropes are and identifying them is way funnier than one might think
alt text: brb updating the character page
This magnificent bastard. I like it.
_PRAISE_THE_OMNISSIAH_
The way Erin was drawn with the shadows creeping up him, one eye gold, and the dragon sigil- *chef’s kiss* PERFECT
I mean I know it’s like… evil or something, but The vibe, The aesthetic, The sass, LEGENDARY
(DRAGON!)It’s a dragon, and of the enormous kind to!
But also ancient evil, that covers “f*ck-you”
Based on the rune/tattoo/comic logo thingy, this is one noodley dragon
Based on the last panel, I’m suddenly not sure that the Void Dragon is actually a “dragon” in the sense the word is used in this world… it may be more of a convenient label than an accurate one.
I do so love a villain with a dark but classy sense of humor. Magnificent Bastard is purely optional.
Absolutely, 100% voiced by Christopher Lee in my head.
OH NO
Wait, that’s the… logo…
Also I love him, this is the best, it’s so terrifying, reminds me of something but I can’t… I’m sure I read a story wi5h something like this….
