it’s possible that surreptitiously healing someone without their knowledge or consent is violating some rule of medicine, but fortunately Alinua has no idea what those are

I’m very suspicious of those fainth blue lines.
That’s the wind
I dOn’T tHiNk So.
So is Kendal
“This cloudchild’s name is Kria, and she’s a grown-@$$ adult, thank you very much”
I’mma still call her Goose gorl…
…but in my heart, she is still Liz.
stealth healing
I’m vaguely suspicious of the ‘Magistrate’ figure. People in positions of power tend to not be trustworthy.
So this flying creature is good, while everyone doesn’t have common sense
even if she is an adult i can still call her a precious child because shes a cloudchild. precious child *hugs kria*
I don’t think general healing needs consent seeing as someone who’s knocked unconscious clearly can’t consent, but obviously needs medical attention, will get it anyways.
On the other hand, treatments with considerable risk do require informed consent. And since, until recently, Allinua’s been worried about turning Kendal into a tree by healing him, I’d say there may be a considerable risk to the magic treatment.
So… Allinua = crooked medical practitioner.
*sigh* Did you not notice that she gained full control of her powers after her magical experience while passed at out from fighting the sentinel? If her certainty of control while healing Kendal that time and the ease with which she did so weren’t enough, Red confirmed it herself when she said, “risk of magical explosion -100%”
Pretty sure the faint blue lines are just telegraphing that Windscrest is… well, a windy place, since while there seems to be a nice amount of directionality worked into the hair, the effect might be missed in all the cooing about floofiness.
ooh what if the magistrate is the girl made of metal
Note that Kria is not, in fact, unconscious. So Alinua is still acting unethically and should have the medical license she doesn’t have revoked by the nonexistent professional body she isn’t a member of.
Of all the things to have a debate about in the comments I wasn’t expecting the ethics of practicing medicine without consent of the patient
LAST PAGE, ON DRAGON BALL Z: Oh, those aren’t bandages, just white stripes.
THIS PAGE, ON DRAGON BALL Z: Nope. Also bandages.
law? and order? in this amorphous fantasy land? it’s more likely than you think.
Kria is great, nice thinking making the flying folk small to reduce weight.
well this was fun
TL;DR: Very Much An Adult, Thank You shows the Floofs around town and explains how she obtained a police sketch of Chimera Mom. She then ominously tells them to go see the Magistrate, but not before Healer-floof gives out unsolicited heals.
I see what she’s doing! Sneaky healing while touching the little one’s shoulder!
the alt paragraph
Nobody asked, but:
-These small winged humanoids are colloquially called “cloudchildren” due to their stature, reaching at most four feet in height at adulthood
-Three main types exist; bat-winged, bird-winged and bug-winged. Only the bat-winged ones ever grow facial hair.
-They are NOT a variant on the Three Elder Races, and were created some centuries later. They’re a species of their own.
-A large population lives in Windscrest, in part because the wind coming off the Storm appeals to their love of flying.
-This cloudchild is named Kria, and she’s a grown-ass adult, thank you very much.
Rereading the comic. Wish we got to see more of Kria 🙁
The town is scared since Vash is gone
And they must tell if they know what goes on
Well, legally if someone says no, then you can’t perform a medical procedure on them. Unless they then pass out, in which case you have implied consent.
in my brain, Kria’s voice is a little bit scratchy
It just feels *right,* doesn’t it? Although knowing she’s an adult makes me want to use some other voice that’d make that more clear.
I liked Kria, I want to see her in Arc 2.
I also realize that I really, really like when creators take the easy but really really stupid and annoying trope, and say, “Oh, we could, but nah, we’re not gonna do that to ya.” Like with this mob, who turn out to be easily talked down and just jumpy.
