I mean, I get it, but I don’t see how avoiding the risk of a disaster on the scale of “killing a few families and some livestock” is more important than stopping the person going around wiping out entire cities and trying to kill/kidnap gods, and incidentally rescuing a god from her. Even accounting for the people who were killed by the affected creatures, it sounds like the body count from Alinua’s “worst case scenario” was a few dozen, maybe a hundred. There were probably at least thousands of people living in the city that the Collector just casually buried. (And later strips tell us that those people are stuck in limbo until Vash lets them pass on, AND that he has OTHER people still alive who were under his protection and now aren’t, and the protagonist knows this.) She said that she vivisected “hundreds” of human souls before getting bored – is she really likely to stop at ONE god, or is she more likely to move on to another city? She could worse-than-murder tens or hundreds of thousands of people – maybe millions if this is a particularly densely-populated fantasy world. That sounds way worse than the chimeric plague to me.
TL;DR-Iras goes “Color out of Space” on everybody. Blue/purple/indigo magic character refuses to have Prince Charming leave. Too much risk of magenta escaping.
Oh, fantasy hazmat suits. It has been over 3 years since this, your first and so far only appearance in this comic. I yearn to see you again. May we meet on the plot ahead.
Hmm, mages in hazmat suits. Hazmages.
I just realized there’s a blind person in the background
Woah. Nightmare fuel for sure, but it’s also *fantasy* nightmare fuel.
oh and the “physically rooted” Iras looks really cool
Poor Iras… the way you drew his rooted form is very effective– so horrifying and sad.
I’m really loving this world-building so far, can’t wait for the next page!
This is clever as hell. Life magic as a curse. I LOVE IT.
“Do you understand?”
I understand what you’re saying, but the plot needs me to book it out of here so either come with me or don’t. Thanks for the tea!

thats amazing 😀
Well, thanks for my daily nightmare fuel!
Another amazing name. I don’t care how late this comment is.
Getting serious “Annihilation” vibes…
sounds like an SCP
oh my god it’s cancer magic
You were so far ahead of the time. You straight up predicted self-isolation and social distancing half a year before it happened :p
Rereading the comic & was ready to post this lol
the mutant chimerae* were …
A friendly reminder that Red is fully capable of writing horror and I am extremely grateful she doesn’t.
MAGICAL HAZMAT SUITS
i needs one
So magic radiation? Cool but very scary! Can’t wait to see how you use it. ?

magical hazmat suits are my favorite fantasyland thing
I love the tech in fantasy trope. The device in the top right corner is particularly interesting.
Or, you catch up and use your plague curse to kill her? Bet she started the whole plague, since she has chimeras. Or maybe chimeras is a generic term?

Dangerous mutations had driven people mad
Now Blondie’s infected, if that’s what Ali had
The image of the kid physically rooted to the ground is terrifying-
