Ah, yes. Put two high profile dangerous prisoners together. This in no way could go wrong. Nope. No siree.
This is going to end only marginally worse than Red shouting herself out (took me forever to get here, btw. Traffic was a nightmare)
‘oh my god they were cellmates’ Hahaha the alt text for this page is hilarious. Anyways this is interesting , I’m guessing this is how Champion joins the party?
And now the great question of our time, who get’s the top bunk?
I love Dainix’s ethos, don’t draw blood unless you must, loyal to his people and sticking the finger to Zuurith’s system while Zuurith’s own people scream for more. But I get the feeling that even if he finishes his sentence the arena master or someone else will find some excuse not to let him go or not to leave the city.
Wait a minute! That new guard, their eyes, the smiling incarnation from the last page seemingly absent. Big theory time: that guard is actually either Caliban or Tahraim in disguise and is pulling some strings to get Dainix and Kendal in the same cell.
Whatever happens just please Dainix, give that nameless guard your autograph before you leave.
I wonder, what comes to mind with that guard who just hears “high profile political prisoner” combined with “won’t be here long.” Like, who is it? The emissary of another god? A normal diplomat? The representative of a powerful organization? And why won’t they be here long? Are they being held for ransom? is the city about to go to war and they’re about to be executed? Who knows? Not this guy!
Danix and Kendal have much comedic potential. Also something tells me that zurith didn’t think this through and when the gards FINALLY spot the huge deadly tyan storm, he’s going to have to come begging back at kendals feet.
Side-eyeing the HELL out of that little aside about how gladiators become aristocracy when they get out. WHAT. You imprison people, incentivize violence for status and entertainment, and you hand over wealth and political power to the ones who are the best at violence?! And Dainix’s refusal to kill his opponents is an outlier that is actively discouraged?!
*puts head in hands*
Zuurith. Zuurith you platonic ideal of Lawful Stupid what are you DOING. How does any of this strike you as a good idea?
He’s either doing this to try to get Kendal to stage a prison break so he can have Kendal killed or it was an emotionally motivated power move and he didn’t think through the results of his actions after they filtered down through his bureaucracy.
I wanna say that kind of thing has happened historically but I don’t actually know if it has or not, so…I dunno, can we get Blue to go into the history of gladiatorial deathmatches at some point?
Chewed through the archives over the weekend, too. [Despite the horrors all of us reading must have been doing to the server.]
And favorite is Kendal. He is just so very resolute, ridiculously but intelligently -good- and just wants to hug until all the hurt goes out of those suffering around him.
OK, I’m making a note of this: This story gave me jitters… Jitters of excitement. I knew this was gonna be good, but Jitters? I’m putting it out there, this story is Jitter-level good.
I just realized while rereading that the person manifesting around the corner was probably Caliban, disguising herself as a guard, who just ran up & set ~plot~ in motion. Things make far more sense.
*peeks from the corner*
Is everything ok now?
God we’ve made a couple of servers explode in the last days ?
That’s our love for Aurora ^.^
Zuurith: This is a great idea with no possible negative consequences. I’m a genius!

Since I assume this is Kendal, I have to laugh at him being called “too dangerous”

Kendal and Dainix being roomies has sitcom potential and I’m all for it!

I don’t think the prisoner is any of those things, he’s probably Kendal
Wow, Zurith really is afraid of Vash
Welcome to all new readers!
OH MY GOD THEY WERE CELLMATES
Finished binging this Saturday so it’s first new page for me. Can’t wait to see where this is going.
Danix and Kendal have much comedic potential. Also something tells me that zurith didn’t think this through and when the gards FINALLY spot the huge deadly tyan storm, he’s going to have to come begging back at kendals feet.
Oooo interesting 😀
hehehe
Oh FUCK YEAH!!!!!
Hey is it just me or the server has been like not working lately?
omg I can finally get back on the site 😀
Welcome to all newbies! Hope you enjoy your stay.

ok, i’ve managed to binge through the entire series so far since red’s video promoting it. i love it!
currently, alinua is my fav, curious to hear what everyone else’s favorites are

I give even odds on either.
I like that the guards are apparently all friendly with Champion.
I wanna say that kind of thing has happened historically but I don’t actually know if it has or not, so…I dunno, can we get Blue to go into the history of gladiatorial deathmatches at some point?
Oooo that would be really interesting… I hope he does that someday.
I’m mildly disappointed at the lack of floofiness of this new boi
I have to laugh at Kendal being called “too dangerous”
Or at least I assume it’s kendal they’re talking about

Let’s just all take a moment to appreciate how nice the blue-haired guard is to Dainix.
man, the site only started working now
anyways, Dainix and Kendal friendship incoming!
TL;DR: One eyed floof is getting a roommate, I shudder to think of the shenaniganery that will ensue.
NEW ALLY! 😀
HA HA I CAN FINALLY READ AURORA AGAIN
OK, I’m making a note of this: This story gave me jitters… Jitters of excitement. I knew this was gonna be good, but Jitters? I’m putting it out there, this story is Jitter-level good.
Theory: that manifesting god (assuming that’s what it was) is the Ignan god from earlier and is here to give Dainix his newly forged weapon!
I love this comic and I love a good “they were roommates” joke, excellent job, no notes!
I just realized while rereading that the person manifesting around the corner was probably Caliban, disguising herself as a guard, who just ran up & set ~plot~ in motion. Things make far more sense.
I’m about to simp
does anyone else think the first guard had a crush on him?
Alt text: oh god they were cellmates
What do we have here? Could this be the 5th member of the man band being introduced?
