Interesting that Caliban didn’t quite notice the (admittedly dormant) primordial. Then again, I guess the only divine entity we’ve seen detect Life when she’s inactive is the Dragon itself, unless I’m misremembering.
Telling from the way that guard was just standing on the slope it is apparently normal for guards to patrol the outside of the mountain, with no railings or flat surfaces to walk on.
Tho he may be on of those rookie tropes that are made fun of by the older guards and are dared to do something stupid or they’re called chickens, and guards don’t actually have to patrol the outside if the mountain . The phrase “well atleast they won’t interfere now” is a hint to the latter theory.
Reading Aurora and One Piece at the same time is dangerous for your emotional state. Each new page/chapter ends with you needing MORE, but you just have to wait.
And on the One Piece parallel, it’s amazing how, despite almost 25 years of Oda’s experience with cliffhangers, lately Red’s/Aurora’s cliffhangers are on the sublime category. Maybe because the story is getting to the end of an arc, but still *chef kiss*
(gasp) I was right! That guard is Caliban in disguise!
It seems Caliban has taken Tahraim’s words to heart and is committed to the nudge-but-not-interfere plan. They got Dainix and Kendal in a cell together, scared off Alinua and Falst so they don’t complicate matters and I wonder if cutting Tess off so they don’t know about Tynan is part of the plan. Could it be Caliban keeping Tynan a secret and not Zuurith?
Ok, they’ve lost Tess but this isn’t the worst case Ali and Falst could have found themselves in, though Alinua definitely isn’t enjoying this. So long as no other guards heard Caliban, they land somewhere secluded and Ali stops screaming they might make it back to the embassy. To be greeted by a frowning Erin.
Great scene of the city on the final panel, warm glowing city clashing with the cold dark mountain, starry sky and if I’m not mistaken it seems Tynan’s clouds are now encircling the city. I get the distinct feeling the time to flee has passed.
If you zoom in on the last panel, you can faintly see that Alinua’s screaming is interrupted by an “oof” when Falst lands from the first jump.
EnderYoshi:
…I’m not as convinced as you are; from the height hes at in the last panel, Falst should be dead when he lands. Yet I know he won’t be, considering he has plot armor and Red enjoys breaking the laws of physics.

Re: the alt text. IDK why Caliban thinks they’re weird, this is very normal compared to the usual shenanigans of every D&D group I have ever played in.
Sooooooooooo, anyone think the storm might end up where the magic storm used to be? I’m just saying, Red isn’t one to end a conflict with violence so a place on land where he can storm to his hearts content and even be appreciated by a town that happens to not have a god…
Wait, so did Zuurith even order to put Kendal and Dainix in the same cell? Is Caliban undermining Zuurith’s authority and conspiring to humiliate him for imprisoning their champion? And we have another powerful player in this game of 7D Chess?
Oh my god, Caliban, my dear! I wonder what their plan is! Also, I LOVE Alinua’s freak out. Incredibly powerful and competent, but no one’s chill when they’re unexpectedly rocketed into thin air, Hug(TM) or no.
Bowtie Biffer (wearing his physics major hat):
1: Those rules apparently being, “Falst and Kendal are exempted from fall damage; Kendal for demigod reasons and Falst for suspension of disbelief reasons”.
Sagiam- Thanks for the catch mate! That’s so cool that there’s non binary representation! They look so good! (I gotta read Red’s tumblr more for the character descriptions)
time to ruuuuun
Bridal carry time
And down the mountain they go
Screaming, with an AHHHHH!
(Bonus)
The readers were right!
So that guard is Caliban!
The theory, confirmed!
“yeah i don’t get paid enough to follow them. fuck that”
Interesting that Caliban didn’t quite notice the (admittedly dormant) primordial. Then again, I guess the only divine entity we’ve seen detect Life when she’s inactive is the Dragon itself, unless I’m misremembering.
Don’t worry, they will land on some cabbage stand or something
Falst will absorb the impact with his body and insist he’s fine as he crawls back to the inn.

Ah frick I’m stupid, I’ve just scrolled through the comments and I know that the guard is caliban. Also, to The Lolest, was that an ATLA reference?
Caliben? Here? Things are about to get alot more interesting now.

princess carryyyyyyyyy
This is a ship I can get behind.
No worries, Falst is a cat, he doesn’t have fall damage!
… Interfere with what? Caliban, are you sort-of-but-not-quite doing something about both Zuurith and Tynan?
Alinua screams, I scream as well
TL;DR: Catboy takes plant elf for a leap of faith, fire god shrugs off the encounter. Can’t be too important, can they?
Just Falst triggering Alinua’s flashbacks to her traumatic childhood when her parents dropped her out of the Sky Archipelago.
My head is now full of that clip where red showed of voice acting by acting out someone falling out of a window.
Is it me or is Zuurith controlling his citizens
falst scooping alinua up to carry gives me powerful feelings
Ooh, Caliban’s pulling a sneaky on Zuurith!
If you zoom in on the last panel, you can faintly see that Alinua’s screaming is interrupted by an “oof” when Falst lands from the first jump.

The proprietor of which will wonder why things like this keep happening to him.
Everyone else: “this is obviously the character that was teased a while back or possibly the tyrant god kicking the dog.”
Me, having done some century duty but not followed a serial fiction like this before: “Hey kid, do you like proving yourself?”
In whitch Falst yeets himself
It’s probably a good thing Vash helped Alinua get over her touch issues, huh?
Can’t stay, gotta bounce.
*starts playing Gummi Bears theme song*
Wait im bad with names. Who is Caliban?
yes the us government god is going to get beat

To HelloHaiku,
I like your Haikus
It’s interesting to see
Simple but so cool
Local small loud friend scaling cliff/city tops while caring the screaming mom friend. Topical Wednesday!
AHHHHHH
WAIT
Is that the fire lady that I loved so much?????
Those speech bubbles look familiar!!!
Anna- Yes, that’s Caliban. But they’re not a lady, they actually have no gender.
Re: the alt text. IDK why Caliban thinks they’re weird, this is very normal compared to the usual shenanigans of every D&D group I have ever played in.
…wait, does that mean I’m weird?
I wonder if Caliban is one of the four “world-shaking powers” Tahraim was talking about in chapter twelve…
Sooooooooooo, anyone think the storm might end up where the magic storm used to be? I’m just saying, Red isn’t one to end a conflict with violence so a place on land where he can storm to his hearts content and even be appreciated by a town that happens to not have a god…
To Coconut:
Cool haiku response!
I’m happy that you like them!
Thank you Coconut!
Also, Caliban
is the god of the Ignans.
(Early Chapter 12)
Wait, so did Zuurith even order to put Kendal and Dainix in the same cell? Is Caliban undermining Zuurith’s authority and conspiring to humiliate him for imprisoning their champion? And we have another powerful player in this game of 7D Chess?
Tune in Next Week to Find Out!

@Hermit Thrush: No, it means Caliban has never played D&D. Their loss.
To Hello Haiku,
Thanks I will go back
See the chapter that you mean
Thank you for the help
HE’S TRYNA BUST EM OUT
OF PRISON WE DONT HAVE TO

:sparkles: tup :sparkles:
idk i just love that lil “tup”
to the unknown game:
You say “breaking the laws of physics” I say “obeying the previously established rules of her fantasy setting”
If they don’t land on a cabbage stand, I become slightly disappointed.
RUN RUN RUN
To Yellow Rose,
Five seven then five
First line has one too many
It was funny though 😀
I am somehow most amused by “Tup!”
Ignan god? In MY guard?
It’s more likely than you think.
Bowtie Biffer (wearing his physics major hat):
1: Those rules apparently being, “Falst and Kendal are exempted from fall damage; Kendal for demigod reasons and Falst for suspension of disbelief reasons”.
And more importantly, 2: I like your hat.
You can see in the last panel that Falst is bracing himself for landing
Sagiam- Thanks for the catch mate! That’s so cool that there’s non binary representation! They look so good! (I gotta read Red’s tumblr more for the character descriptions)
Falst: *holds Alinua*
Alinua: *is hold*
Big jump… not sure this was thought through tho…
That torch is a concentration magic. Neat.
Alt text: caliban’s met weirder mortals, but not many
Caliban’s hilarious. love them.
Is Red ever going to add a self insert character?
Tess. Tess talks exactly the same way Red talks.
