It’s so weird to hear our favorite hubris boy referred to as the fantasy equivalent of an ambassador. Like, of course I remember he has Privelege (TM) but I don’t think of him as an ambassador, I think of him as the kind of guy you can make fun of for failing to argue his way into a library. Which I guess you can do with ambassadors, but still, there’s some cognitive dissonance there.
Also I’m not 100% sure, but I think the technical definition of an emissary is just representative/servant of their god, and they can have jobs other that diplomacy
Kendal (recording): I bet your day has gone a lot smoother and has been more productive than mine.
(Erin frowns and Falst stifles a laugh)
Alinua’s and Falst’s eyebrow raising game is strong, Erin strikes what he hopes is a cool pose in the final panel and once again everyone is shocked by Kendal shenanigans.
I like how there are two speech bubbles in the first panel, as if the former is a pre-recorded voice clip and the second is the input from Pryder. If this wind magic messaging has been around a while people are bound to have created simplifications like that for it.
Notice how Falst begins the page with the cape covering both arms but when he learns Kendal could be in trouble he get one arm free and adopts a more nimble pose. It’s a consistent part of his character to get into such a pose when in potentially volatile situations, great to see this continuity.
And if we’re willing to ignore the arc number, we already got out Fibonacci page: 1.11.23. (Or, at least, I assume eleven had at least 23 pages? I can’t actually remember.) Lop off that first one and you get a nice, clean 1123. 1.12.35 would’ve been cool, though.
I love how Kendal is all like “don’t be rash”, but if anyone from the rest of the crew landed themself into his current predicament, he’d immediately run to rescue them.
I’m …not entirely sure. In this one particular instance, Kendal knows Zuurith well enough to predict the likely action he would take. Finding out that Zuurith had put someone under house arrest for the duration of their stay here…might just make him get whatever it is they needed here done quickly so they could leave.
Well, or he’d stage a jail break really, really quickly, before whoever ended up in arena. I think it’s probably best for all concerned that none of our heroes end up in the arena, lest …problems occur.
Though, granted, I wouldn’t exactly shed any tears for Zuurith getting destroyed.
Thinking about Erin’s incident at the library reminds me of a song I wrote a where the second verse is
“Erin my love
Every week I watch as the plot screws you over again
And I laugh to hide my pain on your behalf
Besides the fact that it’s just a little funny “
I kinda dig that the last panel frames it to show Erin as if he’s the leader when Kendal’s not around, makes sense as he’s (probably) the next most powerful (it could be him or Alinua really but i think just because Erin’s more versatile)
Oh, sweet Kendal, they’re going to do something rash, and they’re going to get mad.
awww, Ali saying hello is my favorite thing ever
but also, oh boy we’re getting to the plot
Ooooh, are we going to have a prison break-out arc?
Wow things just got interesting

He’s not technically an ambassador, his emissary status is honorary due to the aforementioned Privilege (TM)

“Please dont do anything rash”
Oh sweet summer child…
Saying to not do anything rash BEFORE giving any more information. Smart move. Probably futile knowing this lot, but smart.

“Don’t do anything rash, it might anger The Plot”
TL;DR: You have one (1) new message. Hope it doesn’t land you in more shenanigans!
AHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAH BRILLIANT
also new chapter pog
“Don’t do anything rash.”
12 hours later: “What part of ‘don’t do anything rash’ do you not understand!?“
12 hours? I give it 8 at most
8 hours? I give them half an hour, one at most
Half an hour? We don’t usually get to know how much time passes. It could well be ten minutes.
Also, if you discount the first 1, this page is page 1234! I just noticed that
I wish the chapter had one more page, then we could have gotten 1 1 2 3 5, which is, im my opinion, a much more interesting sequence than 1 2 3 4.
Fibonacci, if I remember correctly?
Yep! Fibonacci! Ho, fellow math nerds!
Ah, math. My favorite subject before… That teacher… *Shivers in the corner*
“don’t be rash, like vash!”
ima just leave this here
we all thank you for your contribution
I love how Kendal is all like “don’t be rash”, but if anyone from the rest of the crew landed themself into his current predicament, he’d immediately run to rescue them.
Hypocrisy is a mainstay of humanity. Just saying.
Plus, he’s the one who rushed out of the inn on his own to find Gleicann and confront Falst in chapter 9.
You know you’ve achieved true friendship when you have to start messages with “First of all, I’m alright, so don’t do anything rash…”
Time for a Prison break out!
Pryder again!
Kendal, you might as well have just cut to the chase and said “Sigh, I guess go ahead and blow up the whole city or whatever.” =P
We leave him alone for 10 MINUETS!!!

Nice! Are you planning on making an Aurora musical?
Perhaps after the comic ends
Looks like it’ll be a while before that happens.
not my dumbass thinking she misspelled message
Dramatic cape~

Alt text: you mean to tell me PLOT is happening?
he just a tweet…yes, I had to…
