The extra lore says that Vash bound Tynan to an oath with Cash gone the oath might be void. If so we can guess that Tynan will be coming for the one person trying to free Vash
So the new god we see on this page might be one of vash’s friends, if they are trying to stop Tynan. Or perhaps they simply don’t want a rampaging storm in their territory, that’s also possible.
I’m doing pretty good. I’ve had a relaxing Christmas with as much as my family that could be managed, but it’s back to work now—I have University interviews and mock exams to prepare for. Hope you’ve all had a nice holiday!
Uh, hate to break it to you but we’re still in chapter 10.
However, I’ve had a pretty good time; not as much of the family home as I would have hoped this holiday but that can’t be helped.
I got diagnosed with ADHD! Also I decided to identify as aroace and promptly proceeded to get a boyfriend. I continue to compose lots of music. I finished reading Thomas Paine’s Rights of Man for literature class and the whole book is just him brutally roasting Edmund Burke. Hamilton was accurate after all.
I was just about to say that! I mean, the robes, the little scarf/cape, the glowy eyes… But hey, If I was going to be an old god, that is absolutely the style I’d want to wear all the time.
Is the sky god trying to flirt with the earth god? ‘Cause it doesn’t look like it’s working.
Really like this new gods design, simple and practical; almost what you’d expect nomads living in this grassland would wear.
I’m with The Lolest on this one, that does look like the god Tynan. Ready to whip up a figurative and literal storm now that Vash is gone and the vow he made is no longer valid (or at least he no longer sees it as valid).
Art wise that is a beautiful sunrise and dark storm cloud contrast going on there and how the panels behind the new deity get gradually darker as the storm approaches.
Ok, big theorising time!
What if the Collector deliberately targeted Vash, out of all city gods, because she also wants to collect Tynan as he is a unique nature god. If Vash is removed Tynan will try and push his luck and attack the shore, leaving him in a better position to have his soul captured than at sea. Storms gain strength over warm seas and lose their strength over land so it could make sense that while Tynan would be at his most destructive on land he would also be at his most vulnerable.
I could see the floof gang engaging Tynan in a great battle, weakening him to the point Kendal tries to force a new vow upon him, only for the Collector to stab Tynan in the back, steal his soul and sincerely thank the gang for doing the hard work for her.
Wouldn’t it be hard for the Collector to collect Tynan if he doesn’t manifest in a physical body, though? I don’t know, stabbing a cloud doesn’t seem to me to be very effective, although it does give his lightning something to attach itself to.
Tynan does incarnate, there’s a nice image of Vash fighting Tynan’s incarnated form at the bottom of the extra lore page for Vash’s Sword.
My guess in this scenario the Collector will goad Tynan into incarnating and overextending over land, stab him with her knife, then use her wind, water and potentially lightning powers to destroy what’s left of his storm to claim his soul. Still, since a storm is much less distinct than the clear cut boundary of the city of Vash even if he was incarnated it would be no easy task for her.
For a minute there I thought I’d gone to the wrong page and Daughter of the Lillies had started posting new story comics again. They left off on an incoming storm…
That is not Vash. He looked the same when he battled Tynan as when he was stabbed by The Collector. (There’s a tapestry in Magistrate Luran of Windscrest’s office that depicts Vash’s legendary brawl.)
Red:
“Should I begin the new chapter when I said I would?
Naah, here take a location change and and an even earlier release time :D”
And if Vash is gone from his city, maybe there’s no one stopping him from going on a destructive rampage…
OH sorry replied to wrong comment I’m an idiot
I don’t know who this Grasslands Dude/Lady is, but if I had to guess about that storm god I’m betting on Tynan, Vash’s long archenemy =}

Generally speaking, lightning storms are bad for grasslands. They tend to start fires.
Mum club! Heyo! How are yall doing?
May i join the mum club?
Of course! The more the merrier!

Me too for the Mum Club! Doing good, waiting for this sucky year to be done.

I see you are not as ironclad in your vow of singlehood as I am
Yeah the “aro” technically stands for “hetero-demi-greyromantic” lol. My qpp is full aroace though.
Hol’ up, if the next chapter is supposed to start today, nut this page is still chapter ten, maybe this will be a double update?
Timing. I’m gonna guess Red decided to hold off just long enough to start the new chapter on New Year’s Day.
such a prebby page…. i love
Does the grasslands deity remind anyone else of the Journey player/cloak person
Oh yeah. First thought when I saw that deity, “oh those aren’t familiar robes at all.”
I was just about to say that! I mean, the robes, the little scarf/cape, the glowy eyes… But hey, If I was going to be an old god, that is absolutely the style I’d want to wear all the time.
I wonder if that god will wind up joining the characters page?
I have noticed that there are a lot of gods in this story.
I’m guessing that the deity is a nature spirit of some sort because they entered/appeared in the same way as glencann
Red: “this wraps up chapter 10, chapter 11 begins monday!”
Also Red: “Time for a scene change and an interlude!”
Readers: “We’ve been tricked, we’ve been back-stabbed, and we’ve been quite possibly bamboozled.”
Rain rain go away, and never come back!

And make a dramatic exit. You can’t forget meals a dramatic exit.

maybe this new god Siodha? or maybe she’s a local deity like Gleicann based on how her robes manifest from the grasses
For a minute there I thought I’d gone to the wrong page and Daughter of the Lillies had started posting new story comics again. They left off on an incoming storm…
Red, just because you like Journey doesn’t mean you can do a promotion, come on
This new god looks a lot like the player character from Journey, I’m loving it
Rain rain go away, come again and I’ll beat your ass
Ooh! They’re pretty.
“You’re not welcome here” *threateningly points a closed umbrella to the sky*
am i seeing dome journey inspiration here?
That’s how you deal with crappy weather! Just tell it to leave!
Is that Vash before he replaced his eye with the blue crystal? ARE WE GOING TO SEE THE BATTLE BETWEEN VASH AND TYNAN!?
That is not Vash. He looked the same when he battled Tynan as when he was stabbed by The Collector. (There’s a tapestry in Magistrate Luran of Windscrest’s office that depicts Vash’s legendary brawl.)
Hey, Falst moved up on the character page! WOO!
“Stole Erin’s bag, but nobody’s perfect”
I love his description: “A young Ferin. Stole Erin’s bag, but nobody’s perfect.”.
“It was a nice day until you come to rain on my praire”
That green guy remind anyone else of the character you play as in Journey or is it just me?
Hey its the green lady from Journey
Me whenever I see a rain storm coming when I want a sunny day.
TL;DR: Floating woman wearing Hijab yells at thunderclouds.
GO ON
GIT
*Ominous music* he’s coming to break your shins…
Alt text: old god yells at cloud
Rain rain, go away, come again and I’ll stab you in the gut
I love how many people do parodies of this song
There is a bug, I posted this post at 4:11pm, not 3:11pm, yet it says I posted it at 3, weird
