Oh we know Kendal isn’t dumb. What we do know is that he’s a do-or-die paragon with a healthy dose of sympathy for Falst.
And that’s exactly why we love him.

I actually laughed out loud when I read this (so thank you, that doesn’t happen often)–those lines are so in character for them.

I still think Falst’s ultimate goal is to mutate the villagers to make sure they can’t reject him. Hopefully the Doctor doesn’t get caught in the crossfire and hurt. Finally, Kendal and Erin interacting just really makes me happy for some reason.
I know that several people have said this already in a preivious chapter, but Erin smol. Through that’s comparing him to Kendal, who i think is over 6 feet (?).
Another little thing, I think someone else said earlier Alinua’s mark isn’t glowing, but her eyes are. However, the way her eyes are glowing looks more like Gleicanns’ do, and her magic style looks more like Gleicanns’ as well. I’m wondering if Alinua can channel nature gods. In a way, aren’t nature gods aspects of life given power over a certain area. So it could be possible. Maybe
That’s actually interesting.
I would like to note that she IS still holding the lacrima. I’m inclined to believe that, rather than channel magic on her own, she is using the energy stored in the lacrima instead. As for why it’s aesthetically similar to Gleicann’s… idk, maybe she’s using already existing plant matter, which happens to be giant root systems. You can’t really turn a root into a vine.
Honestly I feel like this is a “power of the lacrima” situation, as opposed to a “power of a god” situation. Esp since they were like “don’t touch the lacrima, it’s dangerous” before she arrived.
I don’t think that’s possible, given that the souls of nature gods are different from the soul of the life primordial. So yeah, lacrima power channeling local plant life, i.e. roots.

Everyone’s replying to this comment to theorize and be all smart, but all I want to do is agree with your first point. Not only is Erin small–Kendal isn’t particularly tall, I read somewhere, Erin’s just short–he’s also cute. Particularly in this drawing of him (for some reason), but always.

If I remember correctly, Kendal’s about my height, 6 ft 2 inches (about 170 cm, I think?), whereas Erin’s closer to 5 ft 4 inches (about 145 cm (?)). From personal experience, I know that such a height difference makes you feel tall, but not imposing.
I know 8 year old’s that are 145cm so I think those measurements but I don’t know the exchange(I think 1”=2.5cm) instantly myself tbh honest so *shrugs*
My conversions could also just be straight-up wrong, since I’m just mentally estimating and I’m not intimately familiar with how the metric and imperial measurement systems interact (thanks a lot, U.S. education system (/s))
5’4” is actually a little over 160cm, if that helps. 5’4” is about average female height, while average male height is about 5’9” if I remember correctly, so 5’4” would still be quite short for a dude (I’m a 5’4” guy myself so I can say from experience that I am, in fact, quite short :l).
170cm is about 5’7. 6’2 would be around 188cm! tol boi

I don’t think whatever height Erin is would be considered short in this world.
Kendall is for now the most imposingly tall person in the comic. And it makes sense since he is the physical incarnation of a god and thus his body was literally crafted and not randomly created during pregnancy like naturally born people. If I was to choose my appearance as a god I would certainly choose something imposing, that is perceived as strong and beautiful at first glance. In windcrest Kendall is significantly higher than Alinua, who is slender but not that short of a woman since she is just a bit shorter than the magistrate, who in turn is more or less average since he mixes in the crowd when the tree pops up. Erin is a bit taller than Alinua, this can be seen in hilltop when they are shown both near and standing, so he should be more or less of average height. Falst in turn is kinda on the short end of the spectrum, but Ferin are probably a bit more compact being agile and sturdy as they are.
If Erin is short Falst is a literal infant
How old is Falst, anyway? The only age we kinda know for sure is Alinua’s, around her twenties, because Kendal is an incarnation of an ancient god and Erin just didn’t specify is age. He’s also the only one on the character page described as “young.” He might be like, a kid. Which explains why he’s half the size of Kendal.
Red has said on tumblr that Erin is 19, and Kendal is technically only nine days old (at this point in the story). Alinua is most likely 20 or 21, and I’m guessing Falst is about 17 or 18

Took me a second to remember this world has two moons
Wow, that’s quite a jump from a standing start. Great shots of him against both moons, his own counterattack to grab the lacrima and positioning for another. For that display of coolness I’ll forgive his accidental cutting of the floof … this time.
I’m in agreement with Mat, she’s using the lacrimas to power her magic. Makes sense for two reasons, it keeps the ambient life energy plentiful, in case Erin might need to use some too, and drains the lacrima of power and removing it’s threat, even if Falst gets it back it will be severely depleted.
Kendal, now’s you chance! Implement power of friendship and understanding before it’s too late!
TL;DR: Pink floof vs Cursed floof, round 1: Fight!
Pink floof is getting a fair fight (as opposed to her usual curbstomps).
Catboy is really fast, and mages aren’t. If I were a mage, I would probably build some sort of defense first, so that my face doesn’t get scratched by catboy.
Only after doing that would I try to attack, because if catboy gets close it’s game over.

Wow. Sometimes I forget that one reason [SPOILER REDACTED] Falst as [SPOILER REDACTED] is because even without innate magic, he can go up against either Kendal or BOTH Erin and Alinua, and he’d be just fine, unless maybe they were trying to actually kill him outright. It’s not just that he heals as fast as Kendal, it’s just really hard to land an attack on him.
Which also makes [SPOILER REDACTED] even more terrifyingly impressive.
