So my earth sciences prof told us a story about when he was in uni and one of his classmates got into an hour long debate with a prof over what is classified as a soil. In some definitions, a soil is decomposing organic matter over top of weathered mineral matter, so he argued that a dead body on top of a rock should count as a soil. So maybe this isn’t littering, maybe this is just putting down some dirt
