“Welcome to Windcrest, the home of discrimination! Where the only limit is your limited imagination…
Now sometimes things can maybe get a bit out of hand… So we got a birb that you need to understand.”
Maybe so, but they would still recognize his sword, right? And what about Alinua’s mark? If anyone notices and knows what it means then everyone’s going to freak out.
Kendal mistakes Allinua’s chimera mark for a “Life Rune Tattoo” which is something life mages can get to enhance their power. If they’re born with it, it’s chimera, if they get it inked in, it’s a life rune.
Rune=power
Life rune=life power
Inscribing rune into item=giving item power
Inscribing rune into person=giving person power
Except it’s inking, not inscribing
Born with life rune=uncontrollable life power that will eventually kill you
Based on what’s in the Extra Lore about Sentinels, Kendal is an extremely old body of Vash’s. However, villagers still might not recognize him due to lack of personal contact, change in demeanor, a different hairstyle, et cetera. Plus, why would they assume that Vash himself is a refugee?
Well, considering how powerful our two protagonists actually are, I feel like this bird fellow probably saved the villagers just as much as he saved Kendal and Alinua.
Shoutout to Alinua for constantly being a mood. Her expressions give off so much emotion even when she’s in the background of a scene. I love these floofy children so much.
Quick question, how is everyone else pronouncing Vash in their heads? mine’s more of a Vah-sh, but occasionally it’ll slip to V-ash. Sorry if that doesn’t make much sense, but idk how else to explain it. XD
Birb girl is fulfilling the important duty of “only sane man”, Alinua’s expressions are pure gold and the townsfolk are at least trying to salvage their hospitality credentials.
All in all a pretty humorous page.
TL;DR: Bird-feather (cause hair is more feathery than floofy?) is mad that no one looked at their police sketch of Chimera-mom before attacking Confused-floof and Concerned-floof. The townies apologize for attacking protagonists/refugees.
Okay! I am willing to bet that is red’s self insert is this wind elf! (If it isn’t falst, it’s either her or falst, they just seem the most like red to me.)
xD I love how this further establishes the mixed-racial status of the cities. …With an injured, winged (child?) telling the town off like a bunch of children for not listening and threatening refugees. …with a “Great look for us, guys!” xD !!! I love it!
Anyone else notice that the last two panels are basically the exact same, except with different wind swooshy things, different talking-person pose & speech bubbles? It’s exactly the same. I get why tho.
Come for the misguided mobs, stay for the view!
they saw the view first, so shouldn’t it be the other way around
Come for the view, stay for the misguided mobs? I feel like this should happen more often!
Who is this adorable winged person :3 – another party candiate?
At least the Villagers admit to thier mistake ^^
“Don’t worry guys, we can still salvage this!”
“Welcome to Windcrest, the home of discrimination! Where the only limit is your limited imagination…

Dang, poetry. That should be The Official Windcrest Motto.
Agreed. 15/10 for the original comment.
local bird person stops an entire town from murdering a very tall, buff child and a 20-year old social outcast
Alinua and Kendal’s facial expressions are honestly amazing here
I love how Alunia’s and Kendal face and body gestures change over panels three thru five here on this page, so lively!
Somehow, the birb manages to be the least floofy person in the group. Also, doesn’t anyone recognize Kendal as Vash?
Maybe Kendal’s body was a new one for Vash, as it is for Kendal

And also non-glowy eyes
Hello strange bird child
Bird People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I’d say these are survivors of Vash… Right?”
“Actually, I’ve been living in a cave out in the wilderness for the last 10 years.”
“I only came into existence yesterday.”
Well at least the Duo didn’t initiate this awkward social situation (but lord knows what happens next…)
Sure sure… we certainly come form our beloved city Vash

That’s definitely Red’s sense of humor there
Its such quintessential Red Humor. Like you can feel it. its great
You forgot one of the biggies, lack of bright blue glowing eyes.
Quick question, how is everyone else pronouncing Vash in their heads? mine’s more of a Vah-sh, but occasionally it’ll slip to V-ash. Sorry if that doesn’t make much sense, but idk how else to explain it. XD
Actually. not really. I go for more of a Vah-sh myself.
A better explanation of this is do you think vash rhymes with wash or thrash
I say it as vash as in thrash
i love this
wait the Npc apologized this is unheard of!
ah, THERE’s the adventure party’s voice of reason!
BIRB BABY
I love the Birb and I would absolutely DIE for them.
I’m rooting if anything happens to them.

Favourite. Page. EVER!
ah, thank you bird child
“Welcome to the town of dumbasses. Don’t try to explain anything to us that has any amount of detail, we will NOT retain any of it.”
I’ve known smol birb girl for 7 panels and if anything happens to her I will kill everyone in the room and then myself.
Ah, yes, now all the parts of the five-man-band have been revealed on-screen.
4 actually, that’s only for, Kendal, Alinua, “Huburistic Aang” and “Birb Gurl”
So, am I the only one who thinks floofy boi is Vash’s accidental offspring?

try our artisanal fudge

What if the Sentinel just had trouble telling tiny humanoids apart?… That would makes me very sad that they killed it.
This is so forking funny
You are allowed to F-ing, F*cking, Fricking, and Fucking in the comments so you know, OSP isn’t a kids channel, and this comic isn’t for kids either
Lmao, the instant distrust is hilarious
I love the bird dude
Since they aren’t the Collector they now may come in
To the city of Windscrest, where a new arc begins
