she must have done that herself
Which means she figured out how to change her own biology?
Which could be handy for escaping from the exploding volcano.
We almost have the gang back together! (I give it a 50-50 whether they will actually succeed getting back together or if they’ll need another chapter for that.)
Either the tree gets cut, the dragon notices and swerves, or several other things we probably haven’t thought of. At least if she can shake the grip, Kendal will fall into the water and get rescued by the Merids.
Stonee magic for making intricate patterns. Like very overdesigned pillars or domes. A lot of real world architecture would suddenly make a whole lot more sense.
If she does, it’s gonna be extra humiliating for that dragon who lost a race to a tree.
But even if she does get Kendal back, there’ll still be the issue of the sword, currently carried by a stowaway Falst because they couldn’t coordinate their plans.
I’m actually thinking this might be what will happen, nobody knows falst is on one of the dragon boats but if alinua saves kendal then they could potentially use kendal’s connection to the sword to track falst to the paladins’ base?
U got dis Alinua I believe!!!!! Gah I’m so happy she’s back!!! Also, if she succeeds and rescues Kendal, what happens to Flast? Does he get stuck with the paladins?
I just realized this last page but, in the same way that the Gods could see Kendal because he was the vessel for a God, and VD could see Life in Alinua because she’s the vessel for a Primordial, Can LD see Primordial Life in Alinua, and if so do they recognize her? Would this be the first time that LD is seeing another living Primordial besides VD? How would she react since Life is supposed to be dead? And now it looks like she’s helping her killers vessel? I know it’s probably unlikely but is this the way Red gets the Paladins to chill out and listen once they realize it’s gotten more complicated than Light vs Dark? Or do they ignore their eyes and any logic and just go back to fighting the Floof Squad.
I’m so glad Alinua is back!! And what a badass entry! It looks like she’s form-shifted back to her normal land-walking form as well; I don’t see any gills on her, and her sclera are white again. But she’s frantic and horrified in that third panel, and I’m not sure if she’s going to actually catch Kendal, or if she is going to just miss him in the most heartwrenching moment imaginable. I feel like the story’s really been building up to the paladin interaction and the kidnapping, and Falst is still stowed away on that boat.
Tess: OK, ok, I was just going to compliment you on slaying in that crop top. Alinua: AND YOU LOOK AMAZING IN A SINGLE STRAP QUEEN, BUT NOW IS NOT THE TIME!
Alinua has indeed returned to normal; I wonder whether this was a conscious change by her, or another reflex mutation to being back on dry land. While she may have had the time to do the former, a part of me could totally see Alinua marching out of the sea (after healing Selach and the others of course) and letting the reflex happen while she grows the tree.
Oh my Alinua is tense right now, not just ignoring Tess to focus, but she’s also clutching some vines in her other hand; a physical straining action to emphasise the magical straining action. Fighting off a corrupted god, learning of the Collector’s methods of chimera forming, and now Kendal is being kidnapped, again.
Dainix voiced his grievances towards Erin’s plan backfiring in a reasonable manner, but I don’t think Alinua is going to mince her words about how pear-shaped this trip has gone.
Prediction for next week: As much as I’d love for this to work … I don’t think it will. The last three panels are setting up an ‘almost got it’ moment that’ll be cut short by a bweem, light blade, or dragon fire.
The tree will be cut, the Paladins will continue their retreat double-time, and Tess will have to console a devastated Alinua and get her out of volcano danger simultaneously. Maybe a page back to Erin and Dainix for Friday.
crowd cheers and fucking explodes: part two, more explosions
Yipee!
Admirable focus and priorities! GOOO ALINUAAA!
…Stefan better keep his dirty mitts off of any BWEEEMS. Don’t come between our queen and her bestest bishonen!

Huh her water adaptions are gone. Neat!
she must have done that herself
Which means she figured out how to change her own biology?
Which could be handy for escaping from the exploding volcano.
I honestly can’t see a reason as to why Life wouldn’t unadapt her back to normal once she’s out of the water, even if it is less likely.
We almost have the gang back together! (I give it a 50-50 whether they will actually succeed getting back together or if they’ll need another chapter for that.)
Wohoo, Alinua’s properly back!
I don’t think this is going to work, someone will cut the tree…
Either the tree gets cut, the dragon notices and swerves, or several other things we probably haven’t thought of. At least if she can shake the grip, Kendal will fall into the water and get rescued by the Merids.
As dramatic as this is…I don’t think it ends well. Poor Alinua.
I foresee a jailbreak arc in the future.
Aurora Question #70: What is an interesting application of magic?
Stonee magic for making intricate patterns. Like very overdesigned pillars or domes. A lot of real world architecture would suddenly make a whole lot more sense.
Oh no, what happened to Selach is going to happen to Alinua
OHMYGODD SHES BACK ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ SHES SO BACK
The rest of the Floof Squad tried to be stealthy since like, chapter 6. In comes Alinua with the biggest tree, she has ever grown.
It’s awesome!
That’s a lotta green! We love to see it! Wil she reach Kendell tho… My bet is on no, but who knows, anything is possible.
If she does, it’s gonna be extra humiliating for that dragon who lost a race to a tree.

That actually would be great because it would prove to Falst his worth to them.
On the one hand, YAY SOULFRIENDS REUNION but on the other now I really really really hope Falst will find a way down in time
LETS GOOO
Ooh neat. A glowing tree thing. It looked a bit like it had eyes on the last page. I dunno if it’s just me.
It is funny how we have two life mages that say “Hey, my Kendal. No snatching him from me!”

in theory yes lucy probably could, in practice she hasnt seen life in alinua yet
WOO-HOO!! I think she’s got him!
Life magic is so pretty, I love the glow. (also no way its this simple to save Kendal, right?)
ALINUA YES GO QUEEN
