oh heck yeah, can’t wait to see Alinua break some more rocks!
Also, Erin… my guy, literally how did you miss the giant doors? Like I genuinely don’t get it.
*flustered* Yeah dude! important character development stuff! Private, important character building stuff! Absolutely! You can’t just barge in and interrupt, my man that’s rude!
I mean, it’s sound logic, wind magic can’t go through walls any more than wind can, and a great solution to what was likely going to be a really annoying writing precident to work around.
So, I’m guessing that she’s going to be using root systems to find them?
…
How much can she make plants grow? I’m imagining roots cracking open the ground like an egg at this point.
Panel 3: Pondering my borb.
Unfortunately the nature of the bird leads them to where Falst is right now, not the doorway where they entered the underground. Another sensible limitation to the messenger spell; it can locate where people are, but not necessarily the best route to reach them.
None of Erin’s tools likely matched the automaton claw that opened the door; he might not have even realised it was a mechanism and not just some symbol. Fortunately, the old Alinua adage of “When in doubt, tree” might be the tool that’s needed.
I expect a few more pages of the Purple Crew before returning to the Orange Bois.
Maybe that’s the assumption Red meant on Tumblr (see Stark’s comment last page). These two actually aren’t just going to show up and save Falst and Dainix, they’ll have their own troubles getting down there and may be in just as much need of rescuing by the end of the chapter.
It can’t possibly help that both of them must be dang tired right now.
Yeall, they didn’t sleep in quite a while.
How long is this night anyways? I don’t know if nights are longer in aurora, but they should stop somewhen right?
YISSSS COMIC! I missed this!!
“every tool you had” bro’s got 7 literal types of magic & cant even move some dirt smh /lh. In all honesty, scholar & archaeologist erin probably wanted to Not destroy the thing he was studying, but still.
finally
For mobile readers.
Alt-text: skill issue dude falst literally got down there in his sleep
what didn’t have stone shaping yet?
And yet what he would have found with a Matter 1 spell to know wtf. But no sweat, weve got a plant buddy to talk to, or just open things up.
oh heck yeah, can’t wait to see Alinua break some more rocks!
Also, Erin… my guy, literally how did you miss the giant doors? Like I genuinely don’t get it.
My guess is that Falst and Dainix have traveled far enough that Erin doesn’t know the door even exists.
Probably because they’ve moved so much underground they’re nowhere close to them anymore. And the bird wants to go as the bird flies, so to speak
Erin’s message bounces off
The stone with a hollow sound.
“I don’t like this,” he scowls,
“Why would they go underground?”
“And HOW? I went over this place
With every tool I had!”
But Alinua sees a shoot through a crack,
Growing past stone and in green clad.
hey Erin maybe thay had their reasons to go undergorund, maybe they wanted some intimacy for their character developement
Yeah. Certainly just for their character development.
*flustered* Yeah dude! important character development stuff! Private, important character building stuff! Absolutely! You can’t just barge in and interrupt, my man that’s rude!

return of aurora !! great birthday present 😀 excited to see what they do next
Same!
Happy Birthday!
I’m glad you got such a wonderful birthday gift!
Happy (belated) birthdayyy!!!!
Final chapter of arc 1 pog chain
I’m guessing this is the solution to the issue that the “cell phone” message spell creates, the spell can’t go through solid objects?
Yep. Last time we saw this was Chapter 14.https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-14-23/
I mean, it’s sound logic, wind magic can’t go through walls any more than wind can, and a great solution to what was likely going to be a really annoying writing precident to work around.
*PONK* lol
So, does that mean Erin failed his perception check? No, surprise cuz it’s pretty dim there.
So, I’m guessing that she’s going to be using root systems to find them?
…
How much can she make plants grow? I’m imagining roots cracking open the ground like an egg at this point.
You mean like she did to the prison in Zuurith? (I probably misspelled that.)

Aurora Question #72: Throughout Aurora, which character has had the biggest skill issue so far?
probably that librarian who let erin into the Paladins libary
Good insight! I would say Kendal’s social skills need most refining at the beginning of this story.
My instinct is to say Voidy, because of the everything
Erin just looks so darned cute when he is pondering a puzzle.

More an eventful night than a long one, but yeah, we’re on the 7th or 8th chapter since it started now
Alinua got some sleep in Chapter 20. Probably not the most restful sleep on account of her Life’s Perspective Dream, but it’s something.
…i am sensing some more green usage in the near future
Erin, darling I don’t think that they went underground by choice
Birb
Birb go ponk, against ground
For Erin, mystery
Ali sees, bit of green
So perhaps, she could use
Team purple let’s go!!!
Message bird ooof

THIS CAME OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY ??????!!! Also first time posting a comment!
Ooooh that’s two birthdays on that day! Congratulations!! (if you even see this belated reply… oops sorry)
Also, welcome to the world of not-lurking-Aurora! It’s fun here!
YES. You ANALYZE that bird!
hehe ponk
I’m gonna go ahead and guess that the bunker has anti-magic properties specifically to keep stone mages from prying the doors open
Of course there’s no cell reception underground
I dunno why the sound effect for the bird caught me off guard, but somehow it did and now I am mentally wheezing
also the way erin’s cape looks in this page tho?? it’s so flowy, I love it
Well the Messenger Borb has a concussion now.
Are there magic doctors? I don’t care if it’s ‘not alive’ I want to make sure it’s head is okay.
Bird: Bonk Error. Message Undelivered. Please Retry.
THIS CAME OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Also first time posting a comment here!!!!
Happy Belated Birthday! Welcome to the comment section!
It’s always “why did you go into the zombie dungeon” and never “how was the zombie dungeon the zombie dungeon looked fun was it fun”
We’re all sad that the birdmessage didn’t bonk Erin’s head again this time.
The detective is puzzled by spell failure (and looks rather pretentious) but Primal Life touched might find to move forward…
There once was a message bird
That caused Erin to be perturbed.
On rock it ponked,
And its head was conked,
Confusing its summoning nerd.
But why did it stop? Are they down below?
Ali might know how there to go?
Hey, anyone with Tumblr want to vote in this poll? 125 sure sounds like it could be Tynan.
TL;DR: How can I, the smart one, fail to immediately know how the other (probably less smart) party members did what I couldn’t?
