I noticed that they are oriented to make sense, the light side facing the sun and not being hole-in-the-moon crescent shaped. If I didn’t love you already, Red, I do now.
rereading and I would just like to say, while it looks aesthetically pleasing that is actually quite bad because the bowl shape of the city would cause pollution build up in the air. A good example of this is Mexico City which is in a deep valley.
I see this and I have read the lore post about the city and I wonder, how on earth does cholera not become endemic in this place with a single reservoir at the bottom of the crater? Where does all the sewage go? For more information look up Jon Snow and the broad street pump.
My brain tried to come up with a comparable image to this city, but the first thing it came up with was, “it’s like you sliced the top off a zit and scooped it out,” and now I can’t come up with anything else…
Just noticed all the many little dots clustered around the city gates. I’m guessing those are the chimerae that we get a much better look at in a few pages. Cool detail!
What a lovely…city?
alt-text: Oooh, scenic!
TL;DR: Suddenly, civilization.
Anyone else notice that there’s two moons?

It’s just like Tatooine’s Suns… But backwards!
No, I missed the moons, completely. Thanks for catching them for me. 🙂
is anyone else getting Gondolin vibes here? i hope not considering how that ended up
Well…
putting all those houses in must have been a tard. clap clap to red. dedication.
It was a nice city while it lasted.

No offense to you, but I doubt that most medieval cities had to deal with air pollution. Frankly, I’d be more worried about the flooding problems.
Also battle tactics. While the crater rim does give a height advantage, if that wall is breached invader would have the highground

So…yay?
I HATE CHEESE
Wow. Either the walls were built tall or they dug down – whatever the case, they moved a LOT of dirt.
Beutiful drawing red, chef’s kiss .
Beautiful drawing read. Chef’s kiss.

“on that day, humanity was reminded of its greatest fear.”
What happened to the few houses outside of the walls?
Ah yes. And its greatest Lovecraftian fear was air conditioning.
A bright sunny day.
A city in a crater.
Nothing can go wrong.
A beautiful panoramic shot
Of a city in a crater, a truly fair spot

Gosh, I hadn’t noticed the chimeras before! Thanks for pointing them out! I wonder how many other cool details I missed the first time through!
*muffled sobbing*
RIP Vash?
The pride con under a sunny day
