Hunters doesn’t bode well and a character named shrike doesn’t bode well either. Any character named after a psychopathic bird that skewers prey on thorns and then leaves it there like a avian Vlad the Impaler is seriously bad news.
I can answer why! There’s a glitch that’s been here since the first page, where replies to comments work on any of the “actual” pages of the webcomic(for example, 1.5.4), but not on the home page. Unfortunately, the home page is identical in nearly every way to the most recent page, and unless it autofills a page number, it’s what you get when you click an icon/type in the search bar/whatever you do to get to the webcomic. Not to worry, however, as if you go back a page then go forward one, you’re on the most recent one and can reply to comments.
At this rate Cassandra would make a good nickname for her with her warnings falling on deaf ears.
Ok, I’m getting some conspiracy/suppression of information vibes from her hesitation, concerned look and immediately declaring her the suspect without proof. I don’t think Zuurith wants his populace to know about Tynan to deprive him of the fear power, maybe that fight earlier was a distraction too.
That tactic might work with the citizens but the people in the prison have a good view of Tynan and if he strikes there first he’ll have all the fear he needs to assault the rest of the city.
From Red’s tumblr hunter is a catch-all phrase for people equipped and trained to handle the dangers of the world, but the fact these hunters are Zuurith aligned makes me concerned. They might even be the kind of people who round up the godless outside the city to send off to the prison.
Tessandra(?) (okay that just sounds like some weird Popular Girl™ name)
Perhaps this Shrike and her hunters are mercenaries, working for Zuurith because he’s the highest bidder. If even the paladins are willing to work as extra security for him in exchange for a boon, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume others would do the same. Or perhaps Shrike and her hunters are paladins themselves? If so, this will be the first time since the end of chapter 7 that we get to see their capabilities.
Oh wait… it also could’ve been the “it’s hard to see behind the buildings down here” remark.
Plus, I just remembered: normal people can feel a storm, if they have arthritis. They just can’t feel the vibes or energy a storm gives off like Tees apparently can.
Also, Evil Tree mentioned a possible control of information on the part of Zuurith restricting the average citizen’s knowledge of the storm’s existence, what with the arena and things.
I reckon she just had a vague description of what Tess looked like (I say “vague” because the guards have only seen her from far away, on rooftops until now), and then the guard either didnt put two and two together right away or she didn’t want to assume that the first person she ran into was the exact person she was looking for. In either case, that little “well, that’s awkward” was the thing that made it click.
Considering he’s on there now, I’ve got to mention; according to Red on the comic’s Tumblr account, the Ignan champion is canonically trans, and now I’m even more excited to see more of him!
Whew! Feels like only hours ago I learned about the comic from red’s shootout in the video. And I’m only 5 and a half hours past bedtime! This is such a great read. Looking forward to where it goes :3
Tonight we can be expecting stormy weather with a chance of destructive storm god ravaging through the town, so stay indoors and post guards everywhere!
“Hunters” … that doesn’t bode well …
Also look at the storm going O.o
I just love how Tess rolls :3
Hunters doesn’t bode well and a character named shrike doesn’t bode well either. Any character named after a psychopathic bird that skewers prey on thorns and then leaves it there like a avian Vlad the Impaler is seriously bad news.
But the shrike’s song is hypnotically beautiful and mysterious… and the beetle shishkebab? Just savin’ something for later.
oh no
What’s a good meteorological equivalent for “missing the forest for the trees”?
Missing the storm for the clouds?
I mean, “missing the climate for the weather” seems like the most obvious one, but it doesn’t have quite the right kick
Missing the storm for the rain? Missing the lightning for the thunder? Missing the hurricane for the wind?
Possibly worse, but maybe “Missing the storm for the clouds” or “Missing the flood for the raindrops”?
Ohhh that last one is good! I think “missing the flood for the rain,” maybe, is best?
Like, you’re paying too much attention to the falling rain to notice that the rain is starting to build up dangerously on the ground

(dunno why it posted below but meant to post as a response to yours, sorry for the repeat comment!)

You can also just click on the photo/page itself, and it brings you to corresponding numbered page instead of the home page
Err… You can’t see the storm for the clouds?
You can’t see the rain for the drops?
You can’t see the blizzard for the snow?
In this case probably “missing the storm for the lightning”
Missing the storm for the metal lightning lady
man the meet cute’s over
When getting out of being arrested, just talk
Man, that guard isn’t just a cute face. She clued in surprisingly quickly.

Looks like tynan is almsot upon them. They should probobly have listened to metal lady with lightning powers.
Ooooo interesting 😀
TL;DR: Metal lady is also a weather reporter, but unfortunately the network won’t employ her.
Not only will they not employ her, but they called security to throw her out!
Business these days *sigh*
“You’re fired but you’re not even hired”
Cant wait for the hunters of artemis to kick the shit out of some evil clouds
Oh yeah I forgot about Tynan
I wonder how the guard realized PML was the one they were looking for. Theories, anybody?
Probably when Tess said the storm doesn’t feel right. Normal people can’t feel a storm.
Either that, or she was calling Tess’s bluff, due to the “Well, that’s awkward,” comment from earlier.
Oh wait… it also could’ve been the “it’s hard to see behind the buildings down here” remark.
Plus, I just remembered: normal people can feel a storm, if they have arthritis. They just can’t feel the vibes or energy a storm gives off like Tees apparently can.
*Tess, dammit

THE BATTLE OF THE TITANS!
ZUURITH VS TYNAN!
WHO WILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS?
(tynan the answer is tynan)
You fool! I, purple deity of control freakiness, will show that stupid cloud I am much more frightening than that chaotic blue guy who is dead now.
Watch him do that and end up needing to call the floof squad to back him up. #karmicjustice
I need no karma, I’m an egotistical idiot!
tess sounds so disappointed in them for ratting her out
I, for one, am loving the updates to the characters page. “unimpressed with Erin’s credentials” is rather accurate
Considering he’s on there now, I’ve got to mention; according to Red on the comic’s Tumblr account, the Ignan champion is canonically trans, and now I’m even more excited to see more of him!
Me too!
I’m interested to see that the character page focuses on Mr. Maskface the Champion, instead of the Elephant-faced guy. Curious.
Is there any way to get in email notification when a new page is published
They always publish on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
“And now, the weather”
*chase music starts*
I think Cecil would like this metal lightning lady.
And here we see that fascism cares more about people who upset the status quo than it does major ecological problems that are imminent threats.
*looks at U.S. government* HMMMMMMMM…
If the person is risking capture to warn you, then LISTEN TO THEM FOR BEEP’S SAKE
To be fair PML didn’t realise that she was risking arrest at first.
Shrike? Hunting? Uh Oh, looks like Zuurith is about to get flatten by a traction city.
Oh hey, I read that book in high school!
The gang: *goes to the city Zuurith*
Tynan: Hippity hop hippity hee, you are there and so is me
Ooooh! Is this the final member of the 5 man band?
I do hope we get to learn Lightning Lady’s name. She’s very level headed and has garnered much intrigue in me since I’ve binged the comic last week.
Man, can you believe the guard from the strictest law enforcement city would snitch like that? Inconcivable!
this is pretty good. I can’t wait for the next update
Cant believe this is where my binge train ends >.<

A Night Vale reference?
Tonight we can be expecting stormy weather with a chance of destructive storm god ravaging through the town, so stay indoors and post guards everywhere!
Guys, that guard is Entrapta from She-ra. Guys. GUYS!
All cops are in fact bastards
